Grandparents Visit - York

Matt was able to take a day off of work, and we all took the train to explore York.

Not a great shot, but this is the wall surrounding the (old) city

My mom especially had been wanting to see the cathedral, so we made our way in that direction.

On the way, she found this phone booth and wanted to get a picture inside.

It was really stinky!

My mom also found a Catholic church on the way and popped inside to take a few photos.

Since we had all three kids with us, we didn't spend a lot of time in the cathedral. The kids were all very well behaved, but we didn't want to push our luck.

Once we finished there, we wandered around looking for a place to have lunch.

We sat on the rooftop area of a pub, and waited for our food. And waited. Again, the kids did very well considering that they were hungry and bored. Then we just walked.

Oh, just some old headstones in an alley

For some reason, there were kids rides set up in a square, so we paused here for a while.

... And then walked some more.

We walked partway around the top of the wall. Everyone made fun of me because I wanted the kids to walk on the left side, but there was no rail on the right, and sometimes the drop looked far!

After this daredevil feat (ha), we made our way back to the train station and back home to have dinner.

Next up, Amsterdam!

Grandparents Visit - Outings

I've posted before about trips to RHS Harlow Carr and Knaresborough Castle. We liked them so much that we wanted to share them with my parents during their visit. I won't go into detail, but here are some highlights.

RHS Harlow Carr

Knaresborough Castle

This was a first for Miles and Lily, and they were excited to share the experience with Meemaw and Da.
