Prague - Day 1 (travel)

When we originally started planning a spring holiday, we wanted to go somewhere warm like Greece. Unfortunately, none of the flights worked for the kids (either too long or too late at night), so we decided on Prague. I was really excited when I learned about the Easter markets we would get to see. This was before all of our unusually cold weather, and by the time the Beast from the East hit, I was regretting not choosing a warm location.

Since everything was booked, we packed up with our winter coats and headed to Czech Republic. Luckily, it wasn't cold enough to be uncomfortable walking around the city.

Anyway, our first day was all travel. Our flight out was midmorning, and we had a few hour layover in Amsterdam. The kids behaved remarkably well, but as we were preparing to board our second flight, Lily started complaining that her ears were really hurting. Pretty soon she was just crying in my lap, and Matt went out in search of Tylenol for her. He had to go pretty far, but came back and it kicked in just in time for the flight. She did cuddle up to me and sleep during that flight, and Miles and Clara happily played in their own row.

Once we landed, we took a taxi to the hotel and got the kids in jammies to wind down. Matt ran out for takeaway, and we ended up with Thai noodles and dumplings. Then it was bedtime for the kids. They were so tired, but it was difficult getting them to sleep. I'm pretty sure Matt and I crashed soon after they did.
