Edinburgh - Day 1

On Friday morning, we hopped on a train to travel north to Scotland. I'm glad that we hadn't booked tickets for Saturday, as there was a railway strike. This is the second UK getaway that we've traveled by train, and we really enjoy it. Besides changing trains, it's pretty relaxing, and I like not having to deal with airport security.

We arrived in Edinburgh, and had a bit of a walk to get to the Airbnb. It wasn't too bad, despite having to corral four kids and deal with luggage. We snapped a few pictures on our way.

When we got to the Airbnb and walked into the entryway, we were a bit nervous. It was dark and dirty, and the floor had at least an inch of dust on it.

Look at the wear on the steps!

Luckily, the inside of the apartment was much nicer and more modern.

We had lunch at a Greek restaurant next door, then walked to a grocery store for snacks and breakfast supplies.

Just a cool building we saw on our walk

We let the kids have some play time once we got back, then went for fish and chips takeaway.

Once we ate, it was time for the kids to go to bed so we could plan for the following day.
